October 2, 2019 - Baton Rouge Physical Therapy- Lake has been named as one of the 2019 Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge, ranking number 18 among the top 50 companies with 15-249 U.S. employees. The awards program is a project of the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, the Greater Baton Rouge SHRM, and an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group. The ranking of awarded companies was announced in the September 24th issue. This is BRPT-Lake's sixth consecutive year to receive this award.

This survey and awards program was created in 2014 to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Baton Rouge, benefiting its economy, its workforce and businesses.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

·        Have at least 15 employees working in Baton Rouge

·        Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business

·        Be a publicly or privately held business or government entity/municipality

·        Have a facility in Baton Rouge

·        Must be in business a minimum of 1 year

Companies from across the region entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge.  The first part consisted of evaluating each company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics.  This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.  The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75%of the total evaluation.  The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Baton Rouge and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide exceptional quality care validated by outcome data and delivered in the most cost-effective manner.

Direct Access

LA state legislation now allows patients direct access to physical therapy by removing a physician referral for access to a physical therapy evaluation and treatment previously mandated by state law.

Stronger Starts Here

At BRPT-Lake, we personalize your care based on your specific needs. Our skilled therapists will build a treatment plan geared toward your successful recovery and will guide you through every step of the way.

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is the evaluation, preservation, enhancement, or restoration of movement and physical function impaired or limited by pain, disease, injury, or disability that utilizes therapeutic exercise, physical modalities, manual therapy techniques, assistive devices, and patient education and training.

At BRPT-Lake, we have 9 board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) physical therapists and a Sports Certified Specialist (SCS) on staff who are recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, a division of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), for clinical specialization in orthopedic physical therapy, demonstrating knowledge, skill and experience exceeding that of an entry level physical therapist.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists evaluate each patient and develop an individualized plan to improve, recover, or maintain the daily living and work skills of persons by improving independence and participation in daily activities.  This can be accomplished by various treatment techniques such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, physical modalities, adapting the environment, modifying the task, teaching the skill, and patient/family education.

A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is an occupational therapist or physical therapist who has a minimum of three years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy. The Certified Hand Therapist credential offers assurance to the public that the therapist has achieved the highest level of competency in the profession and stays up to date with practice within the field. We currently have two OT/CHTs on staff.

Industrial Services

In our work with local industries, we received a recommendation for “Best Practice” on an OSHA VPP recertification. BRPT-Lake provides a group of customized services that address an employee’s musculoskeletal health through education, training and hands on early intervention.  By focusing on the individual employee’s musculoskeletal health and assessing the physical demands of the job, we are able to reduce the injury potential. These services range from:

  • Functional job descriptions
  • Use of post-offer screens
  • Field ergonomics
  • Musculoskeletal wellness screening
  • On-site care
  • Return-to-work testing

Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

In addition to our on-site services, we provide clinic based Functional Capacity Evaluations. A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) provides a comprehensive evaluation that measures strength, endurance, physical demand work level and positional tolerance. The data gathered through this evaluation objectively defines the injured employee's physical capabilities.

Best place ever. I had at least 4 separate injuries/surgeries where I needed therapy for my knee and back. Each time Tyler, Seth and crew got me back on track. You can't beat their personal attention to your specific needs.

Theresa A.

I came to BRPT-Lake at the Lee Drive location after ACL reconstruction and meniscus surgery. Jamie, Donna and YuYi have all been just wonderful! I'll be glad when therapy is over, but I will miss all these ladies.

Patti B.
