Curling is an Olympic sport which has grown tremendously in popularity over the past few Olympic games.  Since Curling is relatively new and uncommon to this area, we thought it would be fun to review some history and PT related facts about the sport.  
 
History of Curling
  • Originated in Scotland in the 16th century
  • Was first introduced to the olympics in 1924
  • Was a demonstration sport in the olympics from 1936 to 1964
  • Was added to the official olympic programme in 1998
Most commonly injured areas
  • Knee
  • Back
  • Shoulder
Pain most commonly occurs during
  • Sweeping
  • Delivering the stone
