The Louisiana Marathon® was established to bring to Louisiana and capital city of Baton Rouge its first multi-format event.   On January 15, 2012, the eyes of the world will be focused on the main event of the weekend – The Louisiana Marathon®. Friends, family and curious spectators will line up along the 26.2 miles of roadways filled with inspiring sights and sounds to cheer on the many that chose to run. The Louisiana Marathon® course features a fast, flat, runner-friendly path through the lakes, along the river, around downtown, on the university campus and in historic neighborhoods.  For more information please visit www.louisianamarathon.com.

BRPT-Lake therapists to perform ART (Active Release Technique) at the Oktoberfest 3 mile run on October 29th. ART is the gold standard in soft tissue treatment. Look for therapists before and after the race in the BRPT-Lake tent. The race starts at 11811 Reiger Road in Baton Rouge. Onsite registration begins at 3:30. The clinic is co-sponsored by Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic and held at the Surgical Specialty Hospital located at 8080 Bluebonnet. Welcome to our next newly hired therapist, Michelle Jones, PT, DPT. Ms. Jones is a native of Ruston. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion in May of 2008. In May 2011, she received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.

Baton Rouge Physical Therapy-Lake welcomes Luke Zumo, PT, DPT.

Luke is a native of Baton Rouge. He earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Loyola University in New Orleans, where he played basketball for the Wolfpack. He is also a graduate of LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans where he received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2011.
