PILATES: The Ultimate Workout

This method of mind-body fitness has been around for over 80 years. By incorporating both stretching and strengthening exercises, Pilates builds longer and leaner muscles without adding bulk. Other forms of exercise often overtrain certain muscle groups and undertrain others, resulting in muscle imbalances. Pilates works on the entire body, specifically targeting the core muscles. With an emphasis on correct breathing and proper form, anyone can reap maximum benefits from every session. Endless options to vary or modify each exercise assure success with any fitness level and prevent boredom. The results can be felt immediately!

Exercises are done on both a mat and on equipment specifically designed for Pilates. The resistance on the machines is provided by springs, which make the exercises less stressful on the body and joints than most other forms of exercise. These machines are able to provide assistance or resistance, depending on the exercise, which lets your program progress as you improve.
